Summary

Come and play in the 2009 Pacific Northwest Black Community Festival, the premier event in Seattle's Central Area & Rainier Valley. "The Pacific Northwest Black Community Festival" - is the ultimate festival experience that encompasses more than 6 acres with an abundance of facilities and attractive landscaping it draws residents from all over the Central Area and Rainier Valley all year long. This annual 3-day festival extravaganza features 2 stages offering live music all day and night in front of over 10,000-20,000 fans. The Pacific Northwest Black Community Festival will fill up to 40 slots with artists who submit online through Sonicbids!



The festival celebrates diversity in music and features hundreds of local, regional and national performers in genres including everything from R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and reggae to blues, zydeco, spoken word, poetry, and more. There are 2 stages: one main and the other for their youth performers. This event is a rebirth of that organization 10-20K+ in attendance around for 13 years - from 1983-1996.



The festival organization has been working diligently with their partners within the community and have the pleasure of introducing a fantastic featured artist to this year's event: Bilal! Bilal, a self-confessed jazz junkie from Philadelphia, PA, sang the hook on Common's The 6th Sense  with Neo-soul singer Jill Scott.  He also scats and plays keyboards.  Bilal has appeared on Common's Like Water for Chocolate, Guru's Jazzmatazz, Vol. 3: Street Soul, and has written and produced for  the likes Erykah Badu.

This year's Pacific Northwest Black Community Festival, which will be held July 3rd-5th, 2009, will continue to provide exciting entertainment for all ages and musical tastes, plus a variety of food, carnival rides, shopping and children's activities. The Pacific Northwest Black Community Festival is a summer destination. Sponsors include Northwest African American Museum, City of Seattle, The Facts Newspaper, Ezell's Chicken, Catfish Corner, Seattle Urban League, Sonicbids, and many others.



Selected artists will be compensated for their performances as well as travel/lodging expenses.
