taking place in the heart of Europe in the German capital of Berlin. POPKOMM is dedicated to providing

a vibrant, creative environment for new, up-and-coming artists to present their talents, and for

dynamic companies from all over the world to come together and exchange business.

In 2011 POPKOMM will be a purely Business-To-Business event, gathering decision-makers from all areas

of the local and global entertainment industry in one venue – the historic Tempelhof airport building.

Popkomm will present carefully selected artists for Spotlight Showcases in small, fully equipped venues

inside the airport.
There will be a special Sonicbids venue with two stages available for Sonicbids artists. C Club

is a 200 capacity room with a full stage to accommodate full band set ups. Crystal Room is a 150

capacity room suitable for solo, duo and small band formations. THESE SHOWCASES ARE NOT OPEN TO THE

GENERAL PUBLIC.

“The key to Popkomm showcases this year is for us to get right into the roots of making opportunities

happen for artists. We want results for them. We want to see them get the deals they are looking for

and we want to see them become the buzz bands of the following 12 months. We will present acts that we

know are worthy of the attention of decision-makers from the music business and place them in

fully-equipped, small venues at Tempelhof during each afternoon of Popkomm. Our main role will be to

spend the weeks leading up to Popkomm promoting each artist to delegates and people in the music

business in a way that could be described as match-making“.

– Paul Cheetham, Popkomm Music Manager
