Summary

Pulse of the Planet is a world music radio show on Onda Cero International (OCI) in southern Spain that delivers a sound portrait of our world with the purpose of promoting unity while respecting diversity. Pulse of the Planet is pre-recorded and airs twice a week in English and once in Spanish, for an hour each broadcast.

The first segment of the show is dedicated to "Roots" music, meaning, the more traditional music indigenous to different cultures. The second segment is “Pick of the Week”, which highlights a specific artist or album. 4 or 5 tracks are selected and a discussion is had with the artist directly. The featured artist will get a plug for their website and will be added to Pulse of the Planet’s top 10 friends on MySpace. The final segment is Global Fusion...party time. This segment is used to promote the various world music events happening in La Costa Del Sol.

Onda Cero International (OCI) is a multi-frequency FM station established in 1991 to bring music and information to millions of English-speaking listeners along Spain's Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol. It is a part of the national chain Onda Cero Radio, one of the largest radio stations in Spain. Onda Cero International broadcasts in the South of Spain...on 101.6 FM for the Costa del Sol and 94.6 FM for the Costa Blanca. (In 2000 Onda Cero / OCI received a Premio Ondas, the most prestigious award in Spanish radio broadcasting).

Pulse of the Planet is looking for DJs and bands that play world music (global fusion, afro-beat, roots, ethno-techno).
