Recent participating artists include The Bronx, Eagles of Death Metal and Jurassic 5./n/nQuiksilver designs, produces and distributes clothing, accessories and related products for young-minded people and develops brands that represent a casual lifestyle driven from a boardriding heritage.

Quiksilver produces between 3-5 web-based, streaming only, promo-only, short (1:00 or less) viral videos each month. These usually feature Quiksilver team riders (surf, skate, snow, etc.) doing their thing in various locales around the world. The clips are lifestyle pieces intended to reinforce the Quiksilver brand and occasionally showcase specific products or collections.

Quiksilver identifies and credits artists prominently in these clips in exchange for the use of their music (gratis). Artists who’ve participated in this program include The Bronx, The Sounds, Von Bondies, Eagles of Death Metal, The Black Lips, Jurassic 5 and many many others over the last 3 years.

Quiksilver is looking for new music to be used in their promotional videos (this is a non-exclusive synch license). Here are some example artists to reference :

Rock: Queens of the Stone Age, Black Lips, Mars Volta, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses, Black Keys, Radio 4

Electro/Dance: MGMT, The Rapture, The Presets, Passion Pit , Justice – Songs at the intersection of Rock and Electronic are preferred

Hip-Hop/Rap: Atmosphere, RJD2, Dan The Automator, Strange Fruit Project – Conscious hip-hop, with clean lyrics

Indie Folk: Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, Jose Gonzalez, Matt Costa
