2006 Radical Rat Film Music Showcase

Radical Rat LLC, based in Chicago, Illinois, was established to connect filmmakers with musicmakers through several avenues, including a live music showcase, CD compilations, podcasts, online music libraries and direct, personal networking.

Our goal is to assist recording artists, composers and songwriters in establishing connections with filmmakers and other media industry personnel to secure placements for their music in films, television programs, advertising, online media, video games, and other media outlets.

Now in its fourth year, our Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase has presented dozens of exceptional recording artists to members of the film industry during Film Festival Week in Park City, Utah, including national and international touring performers, multi-platinum recording artists as well as exceptional unknown, emerging artists.

The Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase is presented at The Spur Bar & Grill, an intimate venue located directly on Main Street in the heart of downtown Park City. Although Radical Rat is not officially affiliated with a specific film festival, Park City is deluged with members of the film industry during Film Festival Week who are in town to participate in the Sundance Film Festival, Slamdance, the Park City Film Music Festival and several smaller film festivals and competitions.

Centrally located amid film festival venues and activities, The Spur Bar & Grill is just steps away from the Egyptian Theater, a primary screening venue for the Sundance Film Festival. This central location and The Spur's comfortable lounge atmosphere allow festival attendees to enjoy and experience the great wealth of musical talent programmed by Radical Rat.

Hard Rock Cafe hosts Radical Rat Launch Party & Performances:

In addition to our showcase opportunities in Park City, Utah, we will once again host our Radical Rat "Sneak-Peek" Launch Party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Salt Lake City, Utah. Starting at 8:00pm on Wednesday, January 17, 2007, the "Sneak-Peek" will present several Radical Rat artists in the Hard Rock's "Brickhouse" performance lounge. All artists accepted for the Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase will automatically be considered for performances at our "Sneak-Peek" Launch Party at the Hard Rock, subject to availability and scheduling considerations.

Radical Rat's extensive Film Industry Outreach program is focused on maximizing attendance by members of the film industry at our showcases, and cultivating and expanding relationships with our network of music supervisors, film producers, directors and editors. Our efforts don't stop after Film Festival Week is over --- That's when our work really begins, following up with the many film industry contacts we've established during the course of our showcase, working hard to successfully place music by Radical Rat artists in films and other media outlets.

All submitting artists will be considered for inclusion in the Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase during Film Festival Week in Park City, Utah, January 18 – 28, 2007. Showcase dates and times will be set one month prior to the event. All showcase performance locations, times and dates are subject to change, at the sole discretion of Radical Rat LLC. If selected for the Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase, you will be offered at least one 30-minute showcase performance opportunity, though the exact time, date, location and venue of this performance opportunity is subject to change.

No compensation will be paid to artists participating in the Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase, and artists are responsible for their own transportation and lodging expenses, which will not be reimbursed. Radical Rat LLC may be able to provide low-cost lodging in Park City to some artists during the event, on a space-available basis. Please email or call if you are interested in securing low-cost lodging through Radical Rat during our event.

Artists offered a performance slot as part of the Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase may also be invited to contribute a track to our 2007 Radical Rat Film-Music CD compilation, a promotional CD that will be given to credentialed film festival attendees, and distributed to members of the film, television and media industries. Members of the general public will be able to purchase this promotional CD for $5, and each participating artist will receive complimentary copies of the CD.

This 2007 Radical Rat Film-Music CD compilation will be produced and released in conjunction with the 2007 Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase. Not all artists selected to appear at the Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase will be offered the opportunity to be included on the CD compilation. Inclusion on the CD will be on a space-available basis, by invitation only. As this compilation is promotional in nature, artists who accept our invitation to contribute a track to the CD will not be compensated for such inclusion. They must possess exclusive ownership of both the copyright for the song and the recording, and sign an agreement granting Radical Rat LLC a non-exclusive license to utilize and distribute this recording for the purposes outlined above.

Participation in our 2007 Radical Rat CD compilation is NOT required for artists that wish to perform in our 2007 Radical Rat Film-Music Showcase. However, artists invited to contribute to our 2007 CD compilation, which is at the sole discretion of Radical Rat LLC, must sign a supplementary agreement granting non-exclusive license to Radical Rat LLC.
