Rally in the Square 2009

Summer means good music and good times at the Rally in the Square music series in Lima, Ohio. Events will be hosted every Friday evening 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., rain or shine, starting in mid-May and ending in September. Pay is negotiable and sound is often provided, but not always.



Rally in the Square is the home of the best party and live music in Lima, Ohio for the past 20 years. The Rallies have been a solid hit since 1989 with a simple formula; good music in a nice outdoor venue, ice-cold brews, and generous sponsors. This is an ongoing Friday night summer concert series that features a three hour show; one 60 and one 90 minute set, or two 75 minute sets. The Rally venue is an outdoor venue with a professional stage, roof, and sound. They are mostly looking for regional acts, but will consider, in some cases, local and national artists.



Many bands ask how they can play at the Rally; in short, you need to be an accomplished band with a track record of being successful entertaining large crowds in clubs or festivals. It is not the place to get experience; the Rally is where you play after you've gotten it! The promoter generally requires that your band have been together 5 years or longer with few, if any, personnel changes.
