The Red Owl - Tempe, AZ

The Red Owl, the premier music venue in Tempe Arizona, is actively seeking local and nationally touring acoustic artists and rock bands. There are 40 – 50 slots available each month with 4 – 5 reserved for Sonicbids artists. Set lengths will be 1 – 4 hours. A local draw is not necessary to be booked, but is preferable.



The Red Owl generally runs acoustic acts from 7pm – 9pm, 7 nights a week. The Red Owl books Bands, mostly Rock Bands, from 9:30pm to closing time, 7 nights a week. Food is served up to 1am. There is a large outdoor smoking patio since smoking in bars has been banned in Arizona.



The Red Owl will contact artists for booking at least one month prior to the date of the show. Selected artists will be compensated for their performances. Typical compensation for bands is in between 20% - 30% of the bar sales from 9:30pm to closing time.



The Red Owl gives contact information for all the bands on the bill so that promotion and gear sharing is easier to coordinate. Artists in the genres of rock, jam band, alternative, rock, acoustic. Country and reggae are all accepted.



The Red Owl has 70,000 college students within a 2-mile radius that attend ASU and Mesa Community College. The Red Owl is also near the intersection of the 101 and 202 freeways, the second busiest intersection in the State of Arizona.



There is high quality PA at the Red Owl, perhaps the best PA for an intimate venue in the region. QSC™ powered 3 way speakers, 3 stage monitors, Mackie™ Oynx 1640 Mixer, DBX™ DriveRack and other outboard equipment including vocal mics and instrument mics. A professional sound engineer is always available and they provide a full light show as well.
