Summary

The deadline is coming soon to submit to the Red Sky Festival, presented by The Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority of Omaha and Live Nation. There are 20 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists.

Omaha's original alternative newsweekly, The Reader, is helping to select the bands to perform at the festival, and will do so by holding a month long showcase, where bands compete for a performance slot at the festival. If selected, bands will have the opportunity to perform at the Red Sky Festival and will be compensated at a set rate for this performance./n/nThe Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority of Omaha and Live Nation are pleased to present the first ever Red Sky Music Festival in and around TD Ameritrade Park in downtown Omaha. Omaha's original alternative newsweekly, The Reader, is helping to select the bands to perform at the festival, and will do so by holding a month long showcase, where bands compete for a performance slot at the festival.



Here's why artists should submit:

  • Artists selected for the showcase will be compensation, based on draw

  • All artists selected for the showcase will get a complimentary 3-day pass to the festival for their members, good for entry to the B and C stages

  • Professional sound and lights, as well as a sound engineer will be provided at each showcase

  • Out of all the showcase artists, 20 Sonicbids bands will be selected to perform at the Red Sky Festival

  • The artists who are selected to play at the festival will be compensated $500 or $1000.

Bands will be invited to showcase in a series of performances currently being scheduled for May 25, 2011 - July 2, 2011. If selected, bands will have the opportunity to perform at the Red Sky Music Festival held on July 18 - 23rd, 2011, on one of the 3 festival stages. 3-4 bands will perform at the festival per day.
