Summary

The Reeperbahn Festival is a special 3-day long music festival on the Hamburger Reeperbahn, featuring over 150 live shows. The city of Hamburg, Germany will transform into a live music capital with an event many music lovers were wishing for but did not even dare to ask for.

From September 24-26, 2009, 15,000 festival goers will have the chance to see about 150 live shows on more than 20 stages in venues such as concert halls, theaters, clubs and bars on and around the Reeperbahn. What could be a better idea than using the world famous “mile” with its lively and vibrant live club scene, with its theatres and bars that are one of a kind in Europe, as a centre for this festival?

National and international acts will headline, supported by the best up-and-coming new bands. Online submissions on Sonicbids are open to artists worldwide – and there will be at least 1-3 Sonicbids artists selected. Selected North American bands will receive a $1,000 (US) subsidy directly from Sonicbids to help cover travel costs. Bands from all other locations will be compensated at a rate to be determined. Please note that travel reimbursement may be taxable. For emerging bands, special airline rates and hotels will be provided. All bands outside of Germany must apply through Sonicbids.

Acts will be from all music genres, with a guideline for the festival and submitting artists being: LISTEN TODAY TO WHAT IS HOT TOMORROW - New International Music. If your music fits this, submit today.

The Reeperbahn Festival is a co-production of Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion GmbH and Inferno Events GmbH & Co. KG. The cultural and economical authorities of the city of Hamburg as well as the Hamburg Marketing GmbH are the main-supporters of this event.
