Entering its 10th year, the Reggaetown World Music Festival is a well loved event located in tropical paradise, celebrating the greatest time of year in Cairns, and the island lifestyle at its prime. Since 2003, Reggaetown World Music Festival has proudly showcased established and emerging roots, reggae, hip hop, RnB and world music from across the globe as well as some local and indigenous artists each year.

Artists will be compensated between $100-$300 per person or more for headliners. Travel costs are not covered for artists, but the promoter will provide backpacker accommodation, local ground transfers, festival backline and basic hospitality riders for all artists.

Past performers include The John Butler Trio, The Cat Empire, Blue king brown, Katchafire, Chaka Demus & Pliers, George Telek, Oyaba, Tiki Taane, Jah Mason, LAdi 6,Kingtide, Walli Pazzi, Freckles, Sista Itations, Rstafari Rhythms sound system, Marcus farim Kanaka, Fatlip, Dj Red, Resserecters, Cornerstone roots,Kingfisha, Kooii, Saritah, Darky Roots, Yubbaz, Zennith, Pad Boys, Reggae bliss, and more.

From humble beginnings in the jungle of Kuranda in 1995 as a Reggae night at the Kuranda Amphitheatre. The ReggaeTown World Music Festival has now evolved into an annual event nestled at the base of Bundanna Mountain in the Tjapukai Cultural Park’s lush surroundings in Smithfield, Cairns. The festival has risen to be one of the region’s, and countries, most well loved and iconic events with years of memories, shared fun, and loving experiences behind us, the ReggaeTown Massive powers forward into 2012 and beyond with some old favorites, joined by some long anticipated additions. The festival has had support over the years from Qld Events, Arts Qld, Cairns regional Councill and more.
