Summary

Regina Folk Festival is seeking up to 5 Sonicbids artist to perform at their 2016 event.  Compensation for selected artist will be determined at time of booking.

The Opportunity

Regina Folk Festival Inc. (RFF) is a non-profit organization that hosts an annual music festival currently curating its 47th festival for August 5th-7th. They also have a year-round Concert Series, exhibiting well-known Canadian and International acts, alongside some local and relatively unknown showcases.  The RFF provides integral musical, cultural, economical, and community-centered contributions to the city of Regina, and the province of Saskatchewan, and is dedicated to being a positive force in artistic and cultural development. 

Once more, this year's event is taking place in Victoria Park in downtown Regina, Saskatchewan.  The capacity of the park is 33,000 people and over three days the event expects to draw 45,000 attendees.

The Band

  • Not accepting heavy metal or punk
  • Solo, duo and full bands accepted
  • The Regina Folk Festival partners with the Ness Creek Music Festival and the Gateway Festival to present some of the best independent artists Saskatchewan has to offer at the annual SASK SAMPLER in the spring. Hosted at the Bushwakker Brewpub on Dewdney Ave, this opportunity puts homegrown acts in front of Artistic Directors from these fine Saskatchewan festivals. Only artists from Saskatchewan are eligible for this additional event. All eligible artists will be considered through submissions to this listing. Only applications received prior to February 12, 2016 will be considered for this additional opportunity. 

The Gig

  • Sets range from 10-15 minutes up to 45-60 minutes
  • Multiples stages
  • Basic sound equipment provided  (PAs, mics, monitors, etc)
  • Backline drum set and amps provided
Additional Compensation Details:
  • Artist fees tbd
  • Hospitality including food and drinks provided
  • Optional participation in press/media for RFF
  • Artists may sell merchandise on-site
  • Merchandise sellers provided by festival
