Summary
The Regina Folk Festival is an annual event that takes place every summer in Victoria Park. The 2009 festival, held August 6-9, 2009 will be the festival's 40th anniversary.
2008 performers include Broken Social Scene, Michael Franti & Spearhead, The Weakerthans, Suzanne Vega, Jully Black, Kathleen Edwards, Ramblin Jack Elliott, Final Fantasy and Great Lake Swimmers.
All selected artists will be paid although the amount will vary depending on the point where the artist is in their career. Additionally, all artists will receive accommodations of some kind - billets for day time artists and hotels for main stage artists. There is also festival hospitality which includes meals, drinks, massage and other such perks.
Artists who submit should fall somewhere within the following genres: old country, bluegrass, operatic rock, world, spoken word, singer/songwriter, roots and blues, Celtic, funk, reggae and jazz. There are 15 slots potentially available to Sonicbids artists.
