Rising Jupiter Talent Showcase Series

This is an opportunity to get your band established in the Tampa Bay Area. Rising Jupiter Talent Showcase Series is an ongoing event, held at Java Junction (www.myjavajunction.com) in Clearwater, Florida, that showcases bands with the desire and ability to establish a market presence in the Tampa Bay area. Java Junction is a 5,500 sq ft venue (capacity 500), all-age venue, serving café food, imported and domestic beer, wine and, of course, awesome coffee specialty drinks!



Each showcase will have four competing bands in similar genres. Selected bands will be booked on a mutually convenient Monday evening and will perform for 45 minutes. Contestants will be judged based upon their energy, tone, professionalism, delivery, and crowd reaction. The winner of each showcase will then compete in the next round against three previous showcase winners in the same genre. The winner of this final round will be offered a paid performance at a Rising Jupiter event as support for a recognized regional or national headline act. The compensation for this paid performance will include meals and beverages. Final Round Winners will also be given priority in future bookings as their tours and schedules allow. In addition, Final Round Winners may be offered a slot at UPHONIA (www.uphoniafest.com) , Rising Jupiter’s annual festival in Florida. UPHONIA 2006 will be held Fri, May 12th – Sun May 14th.

All bands must submit through Sonicbids for consideration. Rising Jupiter will be the sole determiner of bands selected based upon musical abilities, composition, and style. Selected artists will not be paid but will receive beverages. Contestants with professional management/booking agencies and/or active street teams will be given higher consideration.

All MUSIC MUST BE ORIGINAL – NO COVERS ARE ALLOWED. Genres accepted include Rock (not metal), INDIE, SKA, Jazz, Blues, Reggae, Country/Western, Alternative and Punk. Genres not accepted are Hip Hop and Rap.

Java Junction is an all-ages venue. The use of PROFANITY, acts of unprofessional behavior (destruction, vulgarity, drunkenness, illegal substance use, etc) will result in automatic disqualification and immediate termination of performer’s set.

Rising Jupiter has promoted over 200 shows in the past 2 years, including UPHONIA, our 1st major festival, in 2005. We have been the catalyst behind establishment of this market for touring bands that include: New Monsoon, The Grateful Dead’s Vince Welnick, Oteil Burbridge, Perpetual Groove, Mountain of Venus, The Codetalkers and more.
