Summary

The Ryan J. Lariviere Memorial Fund was set up as a non-profit 501C 3 Charity in 2003 by Rick and Marie Lariviere, Ryan's parents. The vision for the Fund is to give new original, unsigned musicians like Ryan and his band, dismal, the opportunity to record at a professional studio and produce 1,000 high quality CD's. One band member must meet the HUD requirements (low-income) to be eligible to enter the battle.



Ten finalists will be chosen by the surviving members of dismal and will battle for the prize packages worth in excess of $10,000. on October 20, 2007 at Plymouth Memorial Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. Two slots in the competition have been reserved for Sonicbids members.



Besides playing for a crowd of more than 1,000+ people, all participants will be eligible for a prize package provided by our sponsors. These sponsors include: The Ryan J. Lariviere Memorial Fund, PIXY 103 FM, Nimbit, Sonicbids, Powderfinger Promotions, Special FX, Rockland Athletics and Powerhouse Gym.



The winning band will receive:

  • 40 Hours of Recording time and 8 Hours of Mastering at MDI Productions in Cedarville, MA

  • Room and board at "The Camp" during recording

  • 1,000 professionally reproduced and packaged CDs from Nimbit

  • One year of Nimbit Pro online web services

  • 250 custom-designed posters
  • Regional radio promotion to over 100 stations in the Northeast from Powderfinger Promotions

  • One year membership to Sonicbids

  • Artist of the Month feature on PIXY 103's Home Grown Show with the "Rock Babe".



    All participants will receive:

  • One year of Nimbit Retail including the Nimbit Online Merchandise Table and Nimbit Distribution to iTunes, Rhapsody, SONY Connect, Groove Mobile, eMusic, Napster and more

  • 50 Color Posters

  • 6-month Sonicbids membership



    Other prizes will also be given away to one of the ten finalists including a set of Zildjian's newest cymbal, the ZHT. Also, there are 2 guitars that will be awarded courtesy of Music Unlimited. Many more prizes will be added as the battle gets closer!



    There are no age requirements, but musicians under the age of 18 at the time of the battle must have a written agreement signed by a parent or guardian (we will provide the form) to be considered.



    Past performers include 2005 winning band, Black Betty and the Bad Habits, 2006 winning band, 3rd Left, as well as Sarah Leketa, Twenty Eight, The Coming Storm, Drive Like July, Broke on Friday, Rob Benton Band, Inflicted, Mad Session, Purity's Demise, The Proposal, Sparkola, Good by Morning, and Someday Providence.

    Please note: Before submitting, artists must go to the registration page of the opportuinty website and download the necessary forms. Artists must then either fax or mail the forms before submitting.
