Summary

The Road to Blissfields Battle of the Bands is a competition held in Hampshire, England that guarantees the winning band a slot at Blissfields Festival. The competition will see 5 bands at each heat perform for 20 minutes in front of a panel of judges from the Blissfields Festival. At least one band from each heat will progress to play the festival. Bands must come from the Southampton, Portsmouth and Winchester areas. Performing bands will be provided a full PA system and sound engineer at the venue (backline availability will be announced). Runners up will receive great exposure from the events, which will be publicized with various forms of media coverage.



Heats are as follows:



  • 1st April - Portsmouth

  • 8th April - Southampton

  • 15th April - Winchester

About Blissfields Festival


The 2011 Blissfields Festival will be held on June 30th-July 3rd. Blissfields is an intimate festival for all the family in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. This is a festival for 1,200 people who want something far removed from the big commercial festivals. There will be quality food and beer on sale all at a reasonable price.



Music takes place across five stages: The main open air stage; The Bradley Bubble a Big Top Stage offering mixed entertainment including local acts, open mic and after hours fun; Tractor Disco Stage (DJs) – An open air carnival on a tractor trailer for all day frivolity; The Hidden Hedge - a secluded hideaway in the woods, with chilled atmosphere and secret appearances/performances; and The Campfire which offers acoustic, DIY, and other entertainment.



Past performers at Blissfields include: Mumford & Sons, Super Furry Animals, Scouting For Girls, Stereo MCs, Fenech Solar, Subgiant, Dub Pistols, Birdpen, Beans on Toast and many, many more.
