Summary

Roadtrip Nation is dedicated to supporting independent musicians who create lives based on doing what they love. Entering its tenth season on public television, Roadtrip Nation is a documentary series following the journeys of three young people as they Roadtrip across America, seeking words of wisdom from Leaders who have built their lives around what lights them up. Past Roadtrippers have interviewed a variety of Leaders, including the CEO of Starbucks, CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien, actor Craig Robinson, musician Amir Questlove Thompson, and Rep. Barney Frank.

Roadtrip Nation uses music in a variety of platforms: a public television documentary series, exclusive online content, a nationwide college campus tour, an interactive educational curriculum, and more. All music is independent—no major label music.

This year, 75 out of 80 songs used on the series were from Sonicbids members. At least 25 slots are guaranteed to Sonicbids artists for 2013. To check out indie artists the show has featured in the past, visit their music hub.

They are seeking a variety of genres, but are especially looking to receive more submissions in hip-hop, dance, pop, and electronic genres- anything with a nice beat but is clean or instrumental.

The documentary series will air on public television and other formats in the fall of 2012 and the DVD release will follow. Your music will also be financially compensated for airplay on public television through your Performing Rights Organization (ASCAP, BMI, etc).

Roadtrip Nation welcomes all genres of music, but is specifically looking for independent music that follows the same principles of their subjects—music that follows its own Road.
