Entering its fifth season on PBS, Roadtrip Nation is a documentary series featuring the summer journeys of twenty-somethings as they roadtrip across America, seeking words of wisdom from people who have defined their own paths in life. Past roadtrip participants have interviewed a variety of people from the CEO of Starbucks, Manny the Lobsterman in Maine, film director Craig Brewer and comedian Wanda Sykes.

Music has always played a key role in the films of Roadtrip Nation, and this year will be no exception. RTN is committed to supporting independent artists by exposing their music to wider audiences and showcasing it on the RTN website . They do not use major label music! Artists you may have heard of that have been featured on their show include: Caribou, Jack Johnson, Sufjan Stevens, Xavier Rudd, White Buffalo, Brett Dennen, Of Montreal and many more. Last year, Roadtrip Nation used about 40 Sonicbids artists in the show - and this year, there are minimum of 10 reserved slots for Sonicbids artists.

This year, Roadtrip Nation has expanded from a 12-part documentary series on PBS to include a broadcast in Australia on SBS, a video hub on MSN.com, an online exclusive series (roadtripnation.com), a nationwide college campus tour (where they distributed over 3,000 soundtracks featuring their favorite musicians from the 2007 series), and more. The amount of exposure this opportunity provides around the world is invaluable. Your music will also be financially compensated for airplay on PBS through your Performing Rights Organization of choice (ASCAP, BMI, etc).

The documentary will air on PBS and other formats in the fall of 2008, and the DVD release will follow.

Roadtrip Nation welcomes all genres of music, but are looking specifically for independent music that follows the same principles of their subjects, music that follows its own road. No explicit lyrics please.

Please note: This season's episodes will be divided into two halves. This submission is for the second half of the season (episodes 7-12).
