Play the festival named Best Small Festival by NME, and Lineup of the Year by the UK Festival Awards! Also known as the most beautiful festival in the world and the only festival with its own monster, RockNess takes place each summer at Clune Farm in Dures on the shores of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands, and 20 UK-based artists will be selected from Sonicbids submissions to perform at the event in June 2011.

In addition to playing this year's festival, all 20 selected bands will be part of an online voting competition via the RockNess website.

The top vote-getters will be considered by the judges, and one will receive a support slot on a 2011 Goldenvoice-promoted tour in addition to a performance slot in the Goldenvoice Arena at next year's RockNess (2012).

This year's epic line-up features a mixture of established acts and new and up and coming ones.

Please note: Submissions are open to UK-based acts only.

All submissions will be listened to and judged by worldwide promoters, including Jim King (RockNess Festival Director) and Dave Pichilingi (Liverpool & Dubai Sound City Festival Director).

"We're really excited to launch this initiative for new bands at RockNess 2011," says Festival Director Jim King. "We're delivering the project with a new partner Sound City, who have a proven track record in providing an excellent platform from where bands can launch themselves headfirst into the music industry. They have first class relationships with all levels of the industry especially key music media which is essential to any young band starting out and needing a break, and I’m convinced that by partnering with them we will offer far greater profile and opportunities to bands throughout the UK and especially those local to RockNess than ever before."
