Rock the Light Festival 2010 Talent Search

Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to Rock the Light, the Midwest's largest Contemporary Christian Music Festival. They are seeking bands to participate in online voting to qualify for a talent competition at the 2010 event. Winners will advance to the final round in Nashville to compete for a record deal with Word Records. Now in its eleventh year, Rock the Light continues to bring the best music and messages to Kansas City youth and adults. Rock the Light X is teaming with other major festivals in the nationwide Christian Festival Association to bring you the “Rock the Light Talent Search presented by Word Records", a joint online talent search competition that culminates at Rock the Light X with a live competition among the 10 finalists chosen by online voting.


Here's how it works:

Online voting will take place from August 2 until August 16. The 10 artists with the highest number of votes will advance to the final round.


The judging of the final round will be determined by a final showcase performance held live at the festival. Each finalist (band or track) will be given 5 minutes - enough time for one song. Each finalist (band or track) will be given an additional 10 minutes to load equipment on and off stage. This will equal a total time of 15 minutes for performance and equipment loading on and off stage, SOUND CHECKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. If a (band or track) plays over the 5 minute performance time they will be disqualified from the competition. Rock the Light X also has the right to stop any band if they go over the designated performance time. These rules and guidelines will be strictly enforced.


One artist will be chosen as the Grand Prize Winner and will be invited to move on to perform at the national Talent Search finals in Nashville later this year (date is not known at this time). Artist will be responsible for all cost associated with traveling to the finals in Nashville. The national winner will receive a development contract with Word Label Group.
