Preliminary rounds will be held the week of May 31st, the week of June 7th and the week of June 14th - with the finals being held the week of June 21st. There will be four bands playing 30 minute sets each week, for a total of 12 bands per market. The winner from each week- three bands in total - will play in the local finals. During this round, judging is completely determined by fan votes - all fans will receive a ballot at the door with paid admission. So, bands who apply should be able to draw fans on the night they play.

The 18 market winners get a demo song posted on during online voting, which will take place from July 5-11. On July 12 the top three bands will be announced. Those three bands will have their material judged by a panel of industry executives to determine the winning band. The winning band - who will get to play at the Rolling Rock Town Fair - will be announced on July 15th.

Please note: all band members must be 21 and older. No exceptions.
