Summary

Artists- thank you for your interest in this event. Due to technical issues, Going.com has cancelled this event. However, they offer performance opportunities regularly through Sonicbids and hope to offer another show in Los Angeles very soon. Please visit their website for more information.

Going.com, an online event guide, is seeking one LA based band to open a show at The Roxy Theatre on Sunset on November 10, 2007 featuring The Octopus Project. The band selected by fans will be offered the gig as well as $3,000 compensation for their performance. Several of the runner up bands will be offered a gig on a different night as well.

In house sound and backline will be provided. Being selected for this gig is completely in your hands.

Here’s how it works:

Going.com will turn over the band-booking process directly to artists and their fans. Tell your fans to cast their votes for your band on Going.com and put you on stage at The Roxy Theatre.

Yes, they know, it sounds like a total pain, but Going.com has made it really easy.

Voting 1-2-3:

1. Going.com will create a custom webpage on Going.com for each submitting band.

2. Once they send you your webpage’s URL address, email your fan lists and have them vote for your band directly on your page at Going.com. They also created a cool little widget you can paste on your MySpace page that shows your fans where to vote.

2. The LA band with the most votes get the gig. You can also pimp out your webpage with logos, photos, MP3 and YouTube links, whatever you want. It’s self-serve and easy.

By the way, Going.com has over 1 million users so your band’s page on Going.com is not just for receiving votes, but it’s a killer way to get more visibility in Boston.
