Sailfest 2013

Sailfest is New England's premiere street festival, located in the heart of New London. The three-day event boasts 50+ artists on 2 stages, hundreds of vendors and the fourth largest fireworks display on the east coast. The event draws 300,000+ people to New London's Historic Waterfront District for one explosive weekend. At least 12 Sonicbids artist is guaranteed a slot to perform.

Sailfest offers festival-goers a chance to see artists from many different genres. The event has hosted performances by the likes of Dr. Dog, The Slip, Alice Smith, Ivan Neville and Dumpsta Funk, Jason Isbell (Drive-By Truckers), Max Creek, Inner Circle, Christine Ohlman, Gaelic Storm, and the 2012 Grammy Award winning Rebirth Brass Band. Selected artists will be compensated with a fee that is negotiated upon booking. Sound systems and some backline will be provided at the festival, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and necessary backline.

Sailfest is Southeastern Connecticut's premiere summertime event. Complete with a major fireworks display, amusement rides, free entertainment, Tall Ships, and over 200 vendors lining the downtown streets. Sailfest produces two stages of free entertainment with musical genres ranging from Rock, Celtic, Hip Hop, Soul, Country and Blues. At our new Kids Stage, children of all ages will enjoy free shows and entertainment at the event. Sailfest also showcases the most amazing fireworks display synchronized to music in the Northeast, sponsored by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation. All proceeds raised during Sailfest are donated back to the city to support community nonprofit organizations.
