Summary

With over 20 sponsors, five different venues and several thousand attending during the three day festival weekend, Saltyjam is a festival not to be missed. Their mandate is to provide a launching ground for young Canadian artists within the genres of jazz, blues, jam band, indie or alternate country. Bands are paid competitively and are offered excellent hospitality that may include food, travel, accommodations, etc./n/nSaltyjam, Saint John's Festival of Music, dates back to 1995 as the Saint John Jazz & Blues Festival. From humble beginnings as a small, modest festival, the event has grown significantly over the last few years. Saltyjam is non-profit and 100% volunteer run.


With over 20 sponsors, five different venues and several thousand attending during the three day festival weekend, Saltyjam is a festival not to be missed. Saltyjam's mandate is to provide a launching ground for young Canadian artists and as such, is currently seeking Canadian artists (preference will be given to those from the Maritime area) within the genres of jazz, blues, jam band, indie or alternate country.


Saltyjam will take place the weekend of July 8-10, 2010 in Saint John, NB, Canada, with more than 20 performances, 90% of which are Canadian. Bands are paid competitively and are offered excellent hospitality that may include food, travel, accommodations, etc. Details to be negotiated at the time of signing.


Saltyjam boasts some amazing performances that include: Tokyo Police Club (2009), Jeff Healey (2007), Sloan (2008), Colin James (2006), as well as Matt Andersen, Plants & Animals, The Envy, Grand Theft Bus, Jimmy Swift Band, Weak Size Fish, Tom Fun Orchestra, Ruby Jean & the Thoughtful Bees, Brent Mason and Bomba (to name just a few).
