Last year’s 14th annual S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival drew over 6000 people, and attracted industry and media interest from throughout North America./n/nS.C.E.N.E. is the St. Catharines Event for New music Entertainment, a locally based independent music festival. It has into one of the largest and most anticipated one-day, all-ages, independent music festivals in Canada.

For 2011, the festival is guaranteeing to select at least 30 Sonicbids artists.

Last year’s S.C.E.N.E. M drew over 6,000 people, and attracted industry and media interest from throughout North America. This benchmark year featured 150 bands on 16 stages (including 2 outdoor stages) at 12 all-ages venues all within easy walking distance of St. Catharines’ downtown.

Genres accepted include: independent pop, hip-hop, reggae, ska, Celtic, country, folk, queer, punk, metal, funk, emo and rock. Some artists are paid, some play for free. S.C.E.N.E. features local, national and international independent artists.

The S.C.E.N.E. Music Festival has provided a vital springboard for such artists as Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Silverstein, City & Colour, Neverending White Lights, Shad, Ill Scarlet, Midway State, USS, the Mahones, Cancer Bats, Attack In Black and Bedouin Soundclash. They have also featured international acts like New York City's Madball and Del the Funky Homosapien.


While maintaining the original 1995 festival's strong focus on Niagara-based independent acts, the S.C.E.N.E. Festival has become a drastically more diverse event.
