They showcase the hottest emerging recording artists to raise funds for the host schoolÂ’s performing arts department. They also provide a highly effective marketing and promotional vehicle for the artists who perform.

To be considered for the School Zone Tour roster, you must:

  • Have a clean act and family friendly image appropriate for a school setting. That means no profanity, racist/offensive content, or anything inappropriate in lyrics, promotional materials, websites, photos, etc.

  • Be located in the Orange County and Los Angeles area - School Zone Tour books one-off shows on somewhat short notice, so artists must be local.

  • Have strong appeal to teens and tweens. That means being a rock or pop band with an exciting, high energy act.

As School Zone Tour is looking for a very specific type of artist, please carefully consider whether you fit all criteria before submitting. The acts that perform are ultimately chosen by the students themselves from the School Zone Tour roster, so only a small subset of submitting artists can be selected.

Selected artists will join the School Zone roster of approximately 30 artists. For each benefit show, students from the school select 1 or 2 artists from the School Zone roster and promotes the show on the band's behalf. Artists won't be compensated, but they'll have a built-in audience excited about seeing and being part of a rock concert to benefit their school. Bands can also sell merchandise (with school approval) and keep 100% of the proceeds.

Artists are placed in front of tens of thousands of teens on a regular basis thanks to large enrollments. Some schools offer up to 3,000 student audience members at once. The students expect high energy music and a high energy performance. If you can play at a coffee house, you would not be a good fit with this program.

Please note: Check out their roster on Myspace so you know the types of artists they are looking for.
