Summary

On Sunday, November 14, 2004, Southern California's independent labels Say It Records and Champ Records will present the first ever San Diego Indie Music Fest. The event will run from noon to midnight, at The Abbey on Fifth Avenue in San Diego, California, and will feature a wide range of musical styles on two talent-packed stages - with a total of 30 showcases slots - two of which are reserved for Sonicbids members for a back-to-back "Sonicbids Spotlight" at the event.

National indie icon Jonatha Brooke will be headlining the event, which will also feature local indie powerhouses Danielle Lo Presti and the Masses, Eveoke Dance Theatre and Alicia Champion. Vendors, voter registration, visual artists, interactive art, independent business owners, and henna artists are just a few of the highlights of this all-ages event. Affordable food and drink will be available all day, with alcohol available in the 21+ area. The festival will provide a unique and powerful performance opportunity to exceptional independent artists, while showcasing the true diversity, professionalism, and extreme talent in today's indie music scene. San Diego Indie Music Fest will further help to educate the public and raise awareness of the wealth of music available right here in our own communities. Event sponsors include Sonicbids, Champ Records, Say It Records, Memory Music, Eveoke Dance Theatre, Goddess Kaffeina, Indie. Foto & Design and more.

You must be an independent artist (not signed to a major label) to play at SDIMF. We accept all genres of music, from solo acoustic to full band and more. Remember: We are celebrating diversity and individualism at this event, so if you wonder if you’ll fit in, no matter what your style or sound: YOU WILL!
