Seattle Hempfest is the world's largest annual cannabis protest rally. Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Seattle Hempfest features 5 stages of music, world renowned speakers, hundreds of food, arts, crafts and political booths. Always held the third weekend in August, Hempfest happens August 19th - 22nd, 2011. Last year's festival had over 200,000 attendees. Hempfest is reserving 20 slots for Sonicbids members.
Hempfest accepts submissions from a variety of music genres. Past performers have included Kottonmouth Kings, Fishbone, 7 Year Bitch, The Zen Tricksters, Jah Levi and the Higher Reasoning, Source Of Labor, Los Marijuanos, Prezident Brown, our house band the Herbivores, Gruntruck, Children Of The Revolution, The Toyes, Second Coming, Pato Banton, and many more.
Most bands play for the exposure, and utilize the professional back-line. Complimentary hospitality is provided with catered food at all stages. Attendance to Hempfest is free, and the entire festival is run by volunteers. Some acts can receive partial compensation upon negotiation.
