PLAY: Secret Loft - Poetry/Readings/Spoken Word (Fall/Winter)

Come exhibit your Poetry/Readings/Spoken Word talents at Secret Loft in Manhattan this fall/winter! Located in the West Village, NYC, we specialize in circus shows, aerialists, live music, comedy, DJ nights, and dance parties. Inspired by the beatnik NYC scene in the 60's and 70's, we've built a reputation for creating a music haven for emerging artists coming up in the NYC music scene.

Secret Loft is a DIY venue in Greenwich Village, Manhattan.

We host a monthly poetry/spoken word night. Guests sit on carpets on the floor, focus on the artists, and are asked not to talk during the performances.

If you're looking to get involved in the Downtown NYC music scene, this is a great opportunity to get involved.

We're looking for 8 artists to perform for 10 minutes each, for a chill Wednesday show. Acoustic songs, spoken word poetry, or readings are all good. We want to form a community around this event and help artists connect with each other and new fans.

Bands must be actively playing shows 

Bands must be willing to heavily promote the show if chosen to play

Bands are able to sell merch on-site

All acts applying must meet the criteria that we look for, lyrics, stage presence, style and artists must have a fanbase

Acts must have a solid online presence 

• Doors at 8 pm. Performances from 8:30 until around 10:30.
• Performers will each receive 2 drink tickets
• Capacity 80+
• Artists keep 100% of their merch sales

• • Tickets will range from $5-10. After a $100 fee for sound and door (for the entire night), the remainder will be split among the bands based on a door poll.
