Summary

SERFA is a four day, 3 night conference featuring music, networking, keynote address, panels and workshops. Performing in one of the Official Showcases at the SERFA Conference provides an opportunity to be heard by concert presenters, radio programmers and others in the business of promoting folk and acoustic music. There are as many as 30 slots available, with 1 slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist. Artist selection will be based on multiple genres of music categories, including singer-songwriter, bluegrass, blues, traditional, Canadian roots, Cajun/Zydeco, world Celtic/British, spoken word, childrens' music, dance, film and other like genres./n/nSERFA is a four day, 3 night conference featuring music, networking, keynote address, panels and workshops.  Performing in one of the Official Showcases at the SERFA Conference provides an opportunity to be heard by concert presenters, radio programmers and others in the business of promoting folk and acoustic music.  Bands and solo acts in the folk and acoustic music realm who are actively pursuing tour bookings in the southeast are encouraged to apply. 



There are as many as 30 slots available, with 1 slot reserved for a Sonicbids artist. Performances will be held in a 300 seat theater with professional sound. Selected artists should be available to perform any night of the conference (and list the nights). There will be no other conference activities scheduled during the Official Showcases.



If selected, artists are responsible for their own conference registration fees and travel arrangements where the conference will be held. Bands will not be compensated, and all artists and supporting musicians must be registered for the conference.



Artist selection will be based on multiple genres of music categories, including singer-songwriter, bluegrass, blues, traditional, Cajun/Zydeco, world Celtic/British, childrens' music and other like genres.  The judges will include concert presenters and DJs, and they will be assessing acts based on musical talent, songwriting (for original artists) and performance.
