Summary

SERFA is a four day, 3 night conference featuring music, networking, keynote address, panels and workshops. Performing in one of the Official Showcases at the SERFA Conference provides an opportunity to be heard by concert presenters, radio programmers and others in the business of promoting folk and acoustic music.  Bands and solo acts in the folk and acoustic music realm who are actively pursuing tour bookings in the southeast are encouraged to apply.

There are currently 18 slots available, with 3 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists, but those numbers could grow. Selected artists should be available to perform any night of the conference. There will be no other conference activities scheduled during the Official Showcases.

Artists do NOT have to be members of Folk Alliance in order to submit but must be members if they are selected to showcase. If selected, artists are responsible for their own conference registration fees and travel arrangements to where the conference will be held. Bands will not be compensated, and all artists and supporting musicians must be registered for the conference.

If you have had an official SERFA showcase in the last TWO years, you are not eligible to apply again.

Artist selection will be based on multiple genres of music categories, including singer-songwriter, bluegrass, blues, traditional, Cajun/Zydeco, world Celtic/British, childrens' music and other like genres.  The judges will be concert presenters and they will be assessing acts based on musical talent, songwriting (for original artists) and performance.

Please Note: Artists can upload two songs per submission. All selected artists must be members of Folk Alliance ($50 membership fee for non-students). For more information about FA or to register, please visit www.folkalliance.org. To learn more about SERFA, go to www.serfa.org.
