The label's extensive connections in music and media translate into long term success for their bands./n/nLondon-based Sidewalk 7 Records has been around since 2004 and their bands have since received attention in media outlets like MTV2, BBC, Sky, The Guardian, feature films, and many more. They have also had performances at major festivals and conferences like NXNE, MIDEM, CMJ, T-Shirt Festival, and more. Set up by a team of industry professionals, the label started out at the end of an era when physical was dying and digital was being born. Over the years, the label has reshaped in order to capitalise on these opportunities.



Here is a sample of the success Sidewalk 7 bands have acheived:


  • This Is Radio Freedom received great press from The Guardian. Sidewalk 7 also placed their music in The Long way Down, The Ace Cafe, Sky's A1 Grand Prix and the movie Pornstar. The band also appeared on MTV2, shot a video with Creighton Vero in California, had over 100,000 hits, and played alongside Primal Scream at the T-Shirt Festival in Valencia and Iggy Pop and Razorlight in Almeria. Abroad, the band played at MIDEM, NXNE and CMJ.

  • Winter Roberts received widespread critical acclaim, including a sold-out show at Ronnie Scotts, a full page feature in London's Evening Standard and regular plays on Steve Wright's show on BBC Radio 2. His live album recording sold out.

  • Billy Vincent went to Number One and Two in the HWV Folk Download Chart.

  • Al Catraz most recently was played on Adam Walton's BBC Radio Show and has since been asked to provide a 30 minute mix on the show.



The basic principle behind the label is to take talent, help with branding and direction and to follow with a digital release via our distributor Universal. This is accompanied by an online and press team who will work to the release gets the profile it deserves, which includes online reviews, press coverage, first plays on radio, and an overall boost to a band's profile.



Sidewalk 7 has always enjoyed access to a fantastic network of entertainment industry types. The label has good connections with producers, studios (both well known and hidden), video producers, radio pluggers, press, online, booking agents, major labels and indies, venues, music supervisors, well known bands, big brands, festival promoters etc. They are always on the lookout for a good deal.



Deals are a standard 50/50 indie deal. The exact terms of the deal depend on a few variables, including who is supplying the recordings. The deals are very transparent, and designed to develop long-term success for both parties.
