Summary

The Sly Fox, located in Burlington, WI, is holding a Battle of the Country Bands, where 4 bands will compete for the champion title. It is looking for country and southern rock cover bands to perform live at the venue. The winning band will receive a cash prize and a performance slot at Country Thunder at Twin Lakes, WI, this July. The runner up bands will receive awesome consolation prizes. All bands will receive great exposure, playing live in front of 500-750 music fans. Artists will be compensated./n/nThe Sly Fox, located in Burlington, WI, is holding a Battle of the Country Bands, where 4 bands will compete for the champion title. It is looking for country and southern rock cover bands to perform live at the venue. The winning band will receive a cash prize and a performance slot at Country Thunder at Twin Lakes, WI, this July (see below for details). The runner up bands will receive awesome consolation prizes. Last year's event drew in around 750 people who cheered on their favorite band.



Rules and regulations:



  • Submitting bands must be either a country band or southern rock band


  • Each band will be given 25-30 minutes to perform 4-5 songs


  • Bands must play covers for the competition (one song can be original)


  • Bands must be based within 50 miles of The Sly Fox, in Burlington, WI



A sound system and a sound engineer will be provided at the venue, but artists are responsible for bringing their own instruments and any additional equipment. A professional live recording and photographer will be available at show, but artists will have to pay for extra services if requested. Artists must be able to draw at least 50 people to the show.




Here’s what selected artists get:



  • Artists will be compensated. All performing bands will be given 100-200 tickets to pre-sell at $5, and the 100% of the profit from these tickets goes to the band.


  • Artists can sell their merchandise and keep 100% of the profits.


  • Exposure while performing live in front of at least 500-750 people. As well, A&R reps, booking agents, and label reps will be present.


The winning band will:


  • Play 1 set (from 11:00am - 12:30pm) at Country Thunder on:


    • Friday, July 22

    • Sat., July 23, and

    • Sun., July 24


  • Be paid $500 for their performance at Country Thunder (for all three days)

  • The 2nd place winner will play one set on one day (date/time TBD)
