What’s at stake WILL change the winning band’s career. The Grand Prize winner will:


  • Headline a live concert at their local maurices with Minneapolis all-girl band and Contest Emerging Artist Partner, Sick of Sarah. The concert is recorded and shot for an artist feature segment.

  • Perform at a maurices-sponsored US Music Festival event along with the Bangles and Sick of Sarah

  • Shoot a music video and record their original "Small Town" song in Los Angeles

  • Cool new music guitars and gear courtesy of Daisy Rock Guitars

  • "Small Town" song and music featured on maurices in store music playlists and web radio player



The two runner up bands will win:

  • Music included on maurices in store music playlists and web radio player





How it Works

In the middle of October, all eligible bands will be added to a round of public voting at mauricesmusic.sonicbids.com, where they’ll get their music in front of millions of visitors to the site and get their fans help them get to the next round by voting.

At the end of the first round of voting, the Top 50 bands will move on and be reviewed by a panel of esteemed music industry judges, who will then select the Top 10 bands. These 10 finalists will write and submit a song focusing on the theme of “Small Town Charm”, which will be posted in early December for a second round of public voting to determine the Grand Prize winner and two runners up.

Please note: All bands must be female-fronted; members must be 18 years of age or older; and legal residents of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia in order to be eligible.
