Summary

Smith College is now booking for their Spring Semester 2009.

Smith College is a distinguished liberal arts Women’s College located in Northampton, MA . The Smith College Campus Center Activities Board is currently seeking musicians, comedians and spoken word artists for a variety of dates throughout the Spring 2009 semester.

On the larger end of the spectrum, the Campus Center and John M. Greene auditorium host 1-2 shows per semester. These events are a great opportunity for headlining artists who are touring, signed or unsigned, with a large college following. Travel and lodging costs are available for artists traveling from out of the area. The auditorium has a capacity of 2,000, and attendance for these venues ranges from 500-2,000.

In the middle of the road, the Campus Center Comedy Club and Spoken Word series are held in the Campus Center and average around 200 in attendance. CCAB hosts an average of 3 comedy acts per semester and 2-3 spoken word artists per semester. Travel and housing costs are available. The Spoken Word series has already hosted such names as Mayada del Valle, Alix Olsen, and Dufflyn Lammers.

For a smaller and more intimate setting, Jittery’s Coffeehouse hosts an average of 10 acts per semester at their popular bi-monthly event. Low volume acts are preferred, ranging from soloists to small 3-4 piece bands. Jittery’s likes to focus on up and coming artists, and hosts a wide variety of different genres and styles. With some of Smith’s more music savvy students in attendance, they are looking for the best quality, creative music talent to perform. This event is held in a two story lounge within the Campus Center, with a core group of 45-75 students in attendance. Local and regional artists are encouraged to submit. A national artist may be booked if it’s the right fit.

All artists will be compensated for their performance. Compensation will be negotiated on a per artist and event basis.
