Summary

Songlines magazine covers the world's most exciting music from traditional and popular to contemporary and fusion, featuring artists from all around the globe - from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, from Miriam Makeba to Mariza, from Gilberto Gil to Gogol Bordello.

Covering both World music's biggest stars (Ry Cooder, Angelique Kidjo, Buena Vista, Carmen Miranda, Manu Chao, Youssou N'Dour) and emerging artists, Songlines is packed full of the latest CD reviews, artist interviews, guides to particular world music traditions, concert-listings and travel stories.
Each issue also comes with an exclusive compilation CD, featuring a celebrity playlist, which to date has included Kate Bush, Robert Plant, Pelé, Agnes B, Damon Albarn and Brian Eno, to name a few.

Edited by Simon Broughton, co-editor of The Rough Guide to World Music, Songlines boasts the very best writers and will be celebrating its 50th issue in 2008.

In addition to the print magazine, a podcast (available through iTunes) and a free interactive sampler are produced for every issue of Songlines.
