The Ontario Council of Folk Festivals (OCFF) is pleased to present the Songs From The Heart songwriter awards. Now in its 13th year, this event highlights the talents of Ontario songwriters and provides an opportunity for the winners to showcase their work for festival artistic directors and other presenters.

This contest is open only to residents of the province of ONTARIO, Canada. The Songs From The Heart competition is a juried process. Our jury will select one English-language winner and one French-language winner. Each will receive a Galaxie Rising Star Award of the CBC in the amount of $1,000, registration for the annual OCFF conference for one person, and an invitation to showcase at the 21st Annual OCFF Conference in London, October 11-14, 2007. Additionally, prizes of $100.00 will be awarded to the winners selected in each of the 7 sub-categories: Political, Humorous, Instrumental, Children's, Historical, Blues and World (songs written in languages other than English and French.)

A separate jury will select the winner of the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award from among the top ten songs (not including the Rising Star Award winners). The winner of the Colleen Peterson Songwriting Award receives $1,000.00 and registration for one person to the 2007 OCFF conference.

Please note: OCFF one-year Individual Memberships are availble for purchase with your submission (for non-OCFF members). For other membership opportunities, and a list of benefits, please see our website.
