Summary
Mike Pinder of the Moody Blues started Songwars to nurture emerging songwriters with the help of the pros. Songwars is a quarterly contest with annual and quarterly prizes worth over $50,000. Click here to read Sonicbids' interview with Mike Pinder in the Sonicbids Lounge.
Each Entry receives a written Critique. Every song is listened to with care and thoughtfully critiqued by Mike's panel. You get "hands on" Feedback. In some cases, songs are listened to more than 20 times during the judging process. Your song is really well-studied.
PRIZES
Prizes will be awarded to 1st Place Category Winners and 2nd Place Category Runners Up. Additional prizes will be awarded to the Quarterly Outstanding Award Winner and an Annual Grand Pinder Award Winner selected from the four quarterly grand-prize winners. Finalists, Semi-Finalists and Honorable Mention Certificates will be awarded for notable songwriting achievements.

SONGWARS "SONG of the WEEK"
"Song of the week" is a special ongoing showcase throughout the competition in which one artist per week will be chosen by Songwars' judges to be featured on the Songwars site. "Song of the Week" is entirely separate from the main judging process. A selection for song of the week does not guarantee selection in any category or vice versa.
ABOUT
Mike Pinder was the founding member of The Moody Blues (Go Now, Nights in White Satin, and Tuesday Afternoon) in early 1960's. As a Singer/Songwriter Mike wrote many of the Moody Blues songs and won the Ivor Novello award for Social Content for his song "Simple Game". Mike has always supported new artists and has three musician sons, two of whom are also singer songwriters. Mike's vision and passion have resulted in the formation of Songwars.
Songwars has a strong sense of artistic responsibility to support the development of music from one generation to the next. There is a desire to help new talent refine their art and be validated through that process. For more info about Mike and Songwars, click here
