In the month of May, songs from all artists who submit will be included in the GearFest Song Contest, where your fans and GearFest attendees can download your track for free as a celebration, in conjuction with GearFest. The 5 artists with the most downloads will win an awesome gear package valued at $2,500, courtesy of Digidesign/Avid, and move on to be reviewed by an independent panel of judges.

From there, the judges will pick one band to win the Grand Prize – the choice of either 40 hours of studio time or one day on Sweetwater’s "sound stage" with recording and video – at the world-class Sweetwater Productions studio on Sweetwater’s Indiana Campus. But that’s not all. The winning band will also get $2,000 in cash to cover travel. The Grand Prize winner will be announced in mid-June.
