Summary

The Soul of the Blues series takes place on the fourth Wednesday of every month at Cornelia Street Cafe in the historic Greenwich Village neighborhood of New York City. (There may also be some upcoming dates at Biscuit BBQ in Brooklyn.) Each evening features two or three artists who fit loosely into the categories of blues or soul music. We often stretch those definitions to include jazz vocalists, soulful singer-songwriters, and more, and we book solo artists, acoustic acts, vocal groups and bands.

Our audience tends to be on the old-school side, so if you are a hip-hop or r&b artist with a very contemporary sound, you will be less likely to fit in with our lineups, although exceptions are sometimes made.

Recent performers have included: Pat Cisarano, Halley DeVestern, Little Toby Walker, Nu Millennium, Kerry Kearney, Anthony Robustelli, Robert Ross, Oli Rockberger, Kevin So, Danielle Miraglia, Julia Joseph, Breakaway, Sam Hooper, Soul Connection, Pat Wictor, and the Kings County Blues Band.
