Southern Cross Concert

Southern Cross is a two day music festival featuring music reflecting the tastes of East Texans: Southern Rock, Country, Christian and Acoustic. It is modeled after and organized by a promoter who has had success with multi genre music festivals in the past. Southern Cross's goal is to become the anchor music event of East Texas, and expand yearly. Three stages will operate for ten hours each day - featuring sixty artists to an expected 5000+ attendance at the Angelina Expo Center in Lufkin, Texas.

Southern Cross is the annual fundraiser for the Humane Society of Angelina County - but it won't feel like it! The focus will be on the music, with added events that will give it broad appeal to draw attendance. The expected media commitments are extensive and include TV, print, radio, outdoor, web, and guerilla marketing.

It's as simple as this: bring some of your fans, play to them and many other artists' plus a ton of potential new fans, help dogs and cats in East Texas, and get paid to do it. As a non profit who spends every extra penny to find forever homes for local pets, the operating budget is very low. However Souther Cross still believes very strongly that bands need to be paid. To stay in the black we have chosen a high percentage revenue share (NOT A PAY TO PLAY) on pre-sale tickets instead of requesting bands donate their time or choosing a difficult-to-manage, nebulous portion of "door" proceeds which is often unfair to the artist. A hotel partnership is in the works, and a roadie ticket, artist feature and music online, marketing tools and band lounge will be available to artists.
