It is one of the premier festivals in Canada, as well as in the Western Hemisphere. The festival will be held September 10 - 12, 2010. Artists are compensated for their performance, and lodging can be negotiated in the selection process as well.

Blues and jazz bands play in over 20 different venues within the confines of the festival. Fans and attendees of the festival roam the streets, shops and clubs absorbing some of the best blues and jazz artists from Canada and the US. A minimum of five Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform.

The free Street Shuffle's popularity has been so overwhelming that Lakeshore Road in Port Credit is now closed on Saturday afternoon allowing tens of thousands to enjoy the music, food and entertainment in a safe and festive atmosphere. The directors have been careful in monitoring and projecting the growth of the event. Each year adding what they feel is necessary to implement solid growth, while developing the festival at a pace that satisfies the needs of attendees, sponsors and the community. This awareness has resulted in a cohesiveness that has gained considerable respect and cooperation from the public, local businesses and governing bodies.

Since its inception in 1999, the Southside Shuffle Blues and Jazz Festival has set new standards for excellence and growth, earning accolades from its peers, entertainers, sponsors, media, attendees and local businesses. With an abundance of events, including the main stage and over 20 live entertainment venues as diverse as restaurants, pubs, coffee houses, clubs and outdoor cafes, there is something for everyone. The festival has drawn hundreds of thousands of people, resulting in a very positive economic impact on the City of Mississauga.

Submitting artists are responsible for all travel and equipment. A PA system is provided, but most venues and the main-stage do not provide a back-line. With sponsors like Pepsi, Cadillac, and UPS, this festival sets a standard for almost all others.
