SoWa Sundays Music Series (Summer 2009)

GTI Properties is looking for family-friendly entertainers to be a part of its 2009 SoWa events: SoWa Sundays Series each Sunday during the Summer through mid-October, beginning with a special signature 2-day kickoff event May 16-17, 2009, the SoWa Art Walk.



At least 4 Sonicbids artists will be selected to participate during the SoWa Art Walk, with 2 performing Saturday and 2 performing Sunday. Selected musicians will perform two 40-minute sets between 1-3pm. An additional 2 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform sets between 11am-3pm each Sunday throughout the summer. Selected musicians may sell CDs and other merchandise, and may bring their own PA system, but this is an ideal opportunity for artists who can play acoustic, stripped-down, and even mobile sets.



Artists will perform outside for hundreds of shoppers alongside the SoWa Open Market, a 100-vendor open-air crafts and arts market in the heart of Boston, MA on Harrison Avenue. Joining SoWa Sundays in 2009 is the SoWa Antiques Market, showcasing 50 antiques dealers from around New England. Russo's of Watertown will debut at 500 Harrison Avenue and open every Sunday with a specialty farmer's market offering everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to homemade pasta, imported olive oils, prepared foods and fresh flowers.



SoWa Sundays will include a consistent music presence at two separate locations in the neighborhood - to complement the large open-air markets and to enhance the experience of city dwellers and others coming to the area to enjoy the food, the arts and the one-of-a-kind designed items that make this district famous. GTI is looking for music that will blend successfully with this kind of low-key Sunday outdoors experience; everything from jazz to country, R&B, classical, ballads, you name it. The opportunity is open to all genres of music, though please keep in mind that SoWa Sundays is a neighborhood event with a fair-style atmosphere and performers should play family-friendly material. GTI is really looking for musicians to add to the fun, friendly, artful atmosphere of SoWa Sundays.
