Summary

For the past 11 years, Spirit West Coast has had more than 20,000 people come together in Monterey, CA to enjoy the “good news” gospel music and message presented at the unique and beautiful setting of Laguna Seca, just six miles inland from Monterey Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

In addition to Monterey, for the past 5 years, Spirit West Coast has held an event in Del Mar, CA. Although many people attend both festivals and those fans agree that the Del Mar event is a very different experience from the Monterey event, the festivals do have many core things in common – multiple stages, dozens of artists, great teaching, camping, children’s activities and ministry, all in a resort vacation area setting. Both festivals share the common purpose of presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ and celebrates faith in Him but each event does have its own nuances and character.

The Monterey festival, being held July 31 – August 2, will feature over 50 artists performing and has already confirmed performances by newsboys, Third Day and tobyMac, with Kutless, Leeland, BarlowGirl, Hawk Nelson, as well as Natalie Grant and Superchic[k] who are returning to SWC’s Main Stage after a few years’ absence.

The Del Mar festival, being held May 23–25, features a “who’s who in Christian music” including Newsboys, tobyMac, Third Day, Kutless, Aaron Shust and Matthew West. Energetic rock bands secured for the 3-day event include Pillar, Seventh Day Slumber, Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch and Stellar Kart. Other artists scheduled to appear include Phil Joel, Todd Agnew and Barlowgirl. Each of these three will deliver a teaching session or audience question and answer “talk-back”.
