Summary

The Singer-Songwriter of Cape May will be held March 6-8, 2008 at the historic Congress Hall and select venues in Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May is the oldest seaside resort in the United States and stretches 20 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and below the Mason-Dixon line. Famous for its rich history of visitors and Victorian architecture, this National Historic Landmark City also hosts world reknowned jazz festivals.

The maiden voyage of the SS Cape May will celebrate new music over 3 nights with showcase performances by original acts and artists selected from submissions. 150 acts, from solo to full band, will be selected to showcase on 15 stages. All selected acts will receive Performer Credentials for the entire event.

SS Cape May will feature two afternoons of music business keynotes, panels, songwriting workshops, musician clinics, mentoring & demo listenning sessions, exhibits and performances at Congress Hall Hotel & Harrison Conference Center.

The event is designed for singer-songwriters of all genres. The focus will be on emerging and established talent. The performers and performances will be a priority. Music industry professionals will attend as performers, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts. They will share their experience and network with musicians, songwriters, students and registrants who attend to participate in the educational seminars and/or perform their music. Networking with other musicians and music industry professionals will provide the education, tools and contacts to help advance careers. Registration for daytime events for non-performers is available and all SS Cape May nighttime showcase performances are free and open to the public from March 6-8, 2008.
