Summary

The Singer-Songwriter of Cape May will celebrate music from over 150 acts for three days, featuring music across almost all genres of singer-songwriters. The event will be held March 27-28, 2009 at the historic Congress Hall and select venues in Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May is the oldest seaside resort in the United States and stretches 20 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and below the Mason-Dixon line. Famous for its rich history of visitors and Victorian architecture, this National Historic Landmark City also hosts world reknowned jazz festivals. Cape May comes alive in early Spring 2009 with this amazing event. The community shares in the celebration of original music during the showcase performances at night.

SS Cape May will celebrate new music with showcase performances by original acts and artists selected from submissions made in 2008. 150 acts, from solo to full band, will be selected to showcase on 15 different stages. All selected acts will receive Performer Credentials ($55 value) for the entire conference and showcase event.

SS Cape May will feature two afternoons of music business keynotes, panels, songwriting workshops, musician clinics, mentoring & demo listening sessions, exhibits and performance critiques at the historic Congress Hall Hotel & Harrison Conference Center.

The event is designed for singer-songwriters of all genres. The focus will be on engaging emerging with established talent and music industry professionals. The performers and performances will be a priority. Music industry professionals attend SS Cape May as performers, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts. They will share their experiences and network with musicians, songwriters, students, registrants and members of the community that participate in the educational seminars and the nightly music showcases. Networking with other musicians and music industry professionals will provide the education, tools and contacts to help advance careers. Registration for daytime events for non-performers is available and all SS Cape May nighttime showcase performances are free and open to the public on March 27 & 28, 2009.
