Summary

The Singer-Songwriter of Cape May will celebrate music from over 150 acts for two days of showcases and music business sessions, featuring music across almost all genres of singer-songwriters. The event will be held in March 25 & 26, 2011 at the historic Congress Hall and select venues in Cape May, New Jersey. All selected artists receive All Access Performer Credentials ($55 value) for the entire conference and showcase event.



Just announced: Keynote speakers at this year's event will be Lucy Kaplansky and Pat DiNizio (of The Smithereens). Cape May will be selecting two Sonicbids artists to open for Lucy and Pat on March 25th and 26th, respectively/n/nTo accommodate those who began submissions prior to the deadline, submissions will remain open until January 28th.

The Singer-Songwriter of Cape May will celebrate music from over 150 acts for two days of showcases and music business sessions, featuring music across almost all genres of singer-songwriters. The event will be held in March 25 & 26, 2011 at the historic Congress Hall and select venues in Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May is the oldest seaside resort in the United States and stretches 20 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and below the Mason-Dixon Line. Famous for its rich history of visitors and Victorian architecture, this National Historic Landmark City also hosts world renowned jazz festivals. Cape May comes alive in early spring 2011 with this amazing event. The community shares in the celebration of original music during the showcase performances at night.

150 acts, from solo to full band, will be selected to showcase on 15 different stages. All selected acts will receive All Access Performer Credentials ($55 value) for the entire conference and showcase event. The deadline for all showcase submissions is January 7, 2011.



SUBMIT EARLY: There are 100 slots reserved for Sonicbids members and 10 slots are reserved for Sonicbids artists that submit prior to August 31, 2010.



SS Cape May 2011 will feature two full days of music business panels, clinics, workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions at Congress Hall & the Harrison Conference Center. At night the community joins in the celebration of independent artists and original new music during the night time performances at the 15 Cape May live music venues. All showcase venues are free and open to the public.
All selected Sonicbids artists are automatically registered for All Access Performer Credentials; acts who are not selected qualify for Alternate Credentials. The showcases are on Friday, March 26 or Saturday, March 27 and acts are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses.



The event is designed for singer-songwriters of all genres. The focus will be on engaging emerging with established talent and music industry professionals. The performers and performances will be a priority. Music industry professionals attend SS Cape May as performers, speakers, mentors, exhibitors and talent scouts. They will share their experiences and network with musicians, songwriters, students, registrants and members of the community that participate in the educational seminars and the nightly music showcases. Networking with other musicians and music industry professionals will provide the education, tools and contacts to help advance careers.
