Stagebound 2013 - Southbound Festival

Stagebound is a contest that gives artists the chance to perform at the Southbound Festival in Western Australia . The inaugural Southbound festival began in 2005 and 8 years later, it's still WA's only music, camping and arts festival. The Southbound Festival attracts high profile international, national and local musicians, and incorporates on-site camping, arts projects, environmental projects, community themes, healing centre, market and food stalls.

They are looking for 3 local WA bands to perform at Stagebound and will be selecting 1 of those bands from Sonicbids. The 3 bands will play at the Stagebound competition on Tuesday 11th December (at Ya Ya's in Northbridge). The winner of the Stagebound competition will then go on to perform at the 2013 Southbound festival held in Busselton, Jan 4-5. The winner of Stagebound will be determined by an impartial panel of judges as well as crowd reaction.

The winner of the Stagebound competition will receive:

• A performance slot at the Southbound Festival in January


• Performance fee of $500


• Camping at the festival, backline and a festival rider will be supplied.

Located in the beautiful South West town of Busselton, just a two and a half hour-ish drive south of Perth, Southbound has seen the likes of acts such as the Arctic Monkeys, Klaxons, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Beirut, Aloe Blacc, Public Enemy, The Hives, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The National, Franz Ferdinand, Moby, Angus and Julia Stone, Metronomy, Birds of Tokyo and Bliss n Eso to name but a few!

The festival will continue to bring sizzling talent from overseas along with the most talented home-grown Australian artists to you in the form of one superb and sustainable festival.
