Summary
St. Francis Xavier University (StFX) is located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, and seeking a number of live acts to perform on campus during the Fall 2008 semester. Their Student Union, The U, is lucky to have several venues on campus in which to host concerts throughout the year, and during the fall, StFX brings live acts to campus for Frosh Week, Homecoming, Halloween, the Christmas Ball, and bimonthly shows at the on campus bar. They are seeking a variety of touring acts including most college friendly genres. No metal and no country, please.
Selected artists will be booked at least two months in advance. StFX provides full production, lodging, travel and meal buyouts in additional to a negotiable flat fee.
The MacKay Room- Located in the Student Union Building, this 800 person capacity venue is home to a number of Union events throughout the year. With full bar service and an attaching lounge area, this venue tops the list of most used Union party places. Home to X-Ring night, Grad week and many other important events, the MacKay room is where the biggest parties on campus are held.
The Ditch- Home to the biggest event of Frosh Week, this outdoor performance area has a moveable stage and offers one of the most unique atmospheres to view a concert at StFX. With an upper lever that converts to a viewing area, this venue offers great sightlines, accommodating space and easy access to students of all ages. A premier venue for a wide variety of events, the outdoor experience converts into perhaps the busiest area of campus during the school year.
The Golden X Inn- Hosting concerts twice a month, The Golden X Inn is the StFX campus bar. With a layout that is ideally suited for sitting down with friends, the Inn is a great hangout place and has a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere that fosters great times.
The Sub Café- As StFXs coffeehouse, this intimate venue is perfect for acoustic sets and up close and personal concerts and speakers. Located on the second floor of the Student Union Building, this area operates as a cafeteria/café during the day but can be turned into a great venue at night for unforgettable small group performances. With comfortable couches and lounge chairs for seating, this place really is a relaxing place to take in a show.
Keating Millinium Center- This 2700 person capacity venue was created through a joint project between the university, The U, the Town of Antigonish, other levels of government and community members. Home to X-Men and X-Women hockey, this two ice surface facility can accommodate the largest concerts, trade shows and exhibitions while still functioning as an amazing fitness and recreation center. With beautifully designed and well equipped conference space, this venue is the newest and biggest venue for events and activities at StFX.
