The St. Louis Earth Day Festival is the oldest and largest one day environmental celebration in the Midwest, drawing more than 25,000 visitors to Forest Park in St. Louis, MO. Now in its 21st year, the festival continues to grow and improve each year. The festival will be held on April 25, 2010 from 11am to 6pm. The event features live music from local and national acts, hands-on recycled art activities, educational games and challenges, the Forest Park stream clean-up, sustainable shopping, a farmer’s market, and countless environmental stewardship opportunities to become involved in. The event is free and open to the public.

St. Louis Earth Day is a non-profit organization with a limited budget, and unfortunately compensation for performing artists is not offered. Every year the Festival draws more people, attracting 25,000-30,000 people in 2009. This opportunity offers submitting artists the chance to showcase their talent in front of thousands of fans, as well as playing for the good of the planet. Twenty artists will play on one of 2 stages. Community performers interested in playing on the third "grass stage" (including belly dancers, children/school groups, etc) can directly contact organizers at info@stlouisearthday.org for information and scheduling on a first come-first serve basis (they reserve the right to decline performances).

St. Louis Earth Day are grateful to the talented performers who donate their time for the benefit of this event. They will link your website to their entertainment pages, provide the opportunity to sell your merchandise, and promote the entertainment lineup.

To keep the environmental footprint small, the festival is seeking artists who won’t have to burn a lot of fuel to get here. They are looking for artists local to St. Louis, within a 300 mile radius, or who can tie this trip into a tour of neighboring locations. Through their relationship with PURE Power, St. Louis Earth Day will offset the miles traveled by their performers through the purchase of Renewable Energy Credits from Missouri Wind Farms.

Please Note: They are open to a diversity of genres, but all applicants must be prepared to perform family friendly music (no curse words, no questionable language, no sexually explicitly or suggestive lyrics, etc). Please only submit if your performance is a good match for the event. This will help them better manage the entertainment aspect of the event and improve the timeliness of responses to qualified artists.
