Summary

Strum Magazine is launching song contests, and has opened the door to Sonicbids country, bluegrass and folk artists. Selected artists will get to co-write a song with professional songwriter Jan Dyer in Nashville.



Dyer was a writer on “Everytime two fools collide,” recorded by Kenny Rogers and Dottie West. She has worked with many greats in the music industry.



A portion of Strum Magazine’s proceeds will be donated to MusiCares, a charity providing valuable resources to songwriters and artists.



Every submission will receive personal feedback from a member of the Strum Magazine staff. In addition, every songwriter will have at least one of their songs reviewed on StrumMagazine.com.



The top ten finalists will receive a certificate and will have the opportunity to have a pre-recorded song placed on a compilation project that will be released digitally at various locations, including iTunes. Money made from the sale of this compilation will also be donated to MusiCares.



The winner of the contest will have the opportunity to co-write a song with Dyer in Nashville; be interviewed by Strum Magazine,and will have the opportunity to perform in a songwriter’s round at The Listening Room Café in Nashville’s Cummings Station. In order to take advantage of the prize package, the winner must be able to travel to Nashville, TN. Transportation to and from Nashville are NOT included in the prize package.
